JOANIE GONELLA
Certified Professional Electrologist
Owner or OC Electrolysis & Skin Care, Joanie has a bachelors degree in the field of Neuroscience from the University of California, Irvine and a post-graduate certificate in Pre-Health sciences from Florida Atlantic University. Joanie obtained her license as a professional Electrologist in California in 2003. Today, Joanie is an internationally recognized speaker in the field of electrology. Joanie is co-owner of California Electrology Academy, a school offering electrology training in California, is an active member of the American Electrology Association and Certified Professional Electrologist.
CARISSA DUNHAM
Licensed Esthetician & Electrologist
Carissa as been a licensed esthetician for over 10 years. She graduated from Paul Mitchell in 2011 and has worked in the field ever since. Carissa found her love and fascination for skin as a teen and would soon find the same love for hair removal. From her first job gaining experience in a day spa, Carissa went on to become a brow specialist where she trained and perfected the art of brow sculpting. With a desire to help others Carissa came full circle with her alma mater and in 2018 became an instructor for Paul Mitchell. Among clinical instruction of the students, she also taught advanced topics as well as waxing and instruction of the California State Board testing.
YARA ABOU HABIB
Licensed Electrologist
Yara was born in Syria where she studied Agricultural Engineering. She immigrated to the United States in 2014 with her husband and two kids at the onset of the war in Syria. She obtained her license in Electrology in 2021 after graduating from California Electrology Academy. She feels happy when providing electrology services as she knows it changes lives for the better.
DEVON VELOZ
Licensed Electrologist
Devon has been a licensed cosmetologist since 2007. After being a hairstylist for 10 years, she became an instructor for a cosmetology school in Portland, Oregon. Soon after returning to California, she learned about electrology and what a difference it would make for others. She has always found a love for helping people feel their best and knows that electrolysis is a great addition to achieving that reward.
PATRICIA SANCHEZ
Licensed Electrologist
Patricia is an active member of the Army National Guard with a background in Human Resources. She has always been an enthusiast in skin care and beauty and found her way to electrolysis while seeking a permanent hair removal method for herself. Patricia is now a licensed electrologist that graduated from California Electrology Academy and looks forward to helping others feel confident in their own skin.
BELLA ALEKSANIAN
Licensed Electrologist
Bella was born in Armenia and immigrated to the United States in 2002. From her earliest childhood she could remember always having an intense passion for cosmetics, self-care and beauty. She knew she would one day end up in that industry but wasn’t sure when and in what exact practice. When her kids became of an age that allowed Bella to pursue a career she would love and enjoy, she decided that Electrology was going to be the most stratifying way for her to advance her career by helping customers achieve permanent results in the treatments they require. She began her education in California Electrology Academy in 2023 and obtained her license in 2024. She is passionate about her chosen path. In her spare time Bella enjoys spending time with her friends and family, cooking, taking care of her pets and gardening.

MONIQUA PRINCE
Licensed Electrologist
Born in Newport News, Virginia, I traveled the United States until the age of 14 when my family settled in Irvine, California. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Transpersonal Psychology and an Associate's in Teacher Studies. As a mother of a 2-year old and a sibling of 5, I value empathy and understanding. I struggled with unwanted facial hair from age 16 and only discovered the benefits of electrolysis at 22. Now, I'm dedicated to helping others achieve confidence with their self-image through safe and effective electrolysis.
